While autism can present similarly in both boys and girls, there may be subtle differences in how traits appear. Because traditional diagnostic models were developed based on male traits, some of the ways autism manifests in girls may be overlooked or recognized later.
It’s important to note that boys and girls can exhibit the same behaviors, but certain tendencies may be more common in girls. These differences don’t mean that all girls experience autism this way, nor that boys don’t exhibit these traits—just that patterns may vary across individuals.
At Behavior Frontiers, we understand that early diagnosis leads to better outcomes. That’s why we’ve partnered with highly qualified licensed psychologists across select regions to provide faster access to autism evaluations. In many cases, families can receive their results in as little as three weeks!
When ABA therapy hours are reduced or cancelled frequently, it disrupts the learning process, slows down progress, and can lead to the return of challenging behaviors. Maintaining a consistent therapy schedule is key to ensuring that children retain skills, continue developing independence, and successfully transition to school, social settings, and beyond.
The Super Bowl is one of the most exciting events of the year, filled with high-energy and cheering fans. The combination of loud noises, sudden cheering, unpredictable moments, and changes to routine can pose challenges for children with autism.
Navigating ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy options for children with autism can be challenging, especially when balancing school and therapeutic needs. Did you know that in certain states, Medicaid may cover in-school ABA therapy if deemed medically necessary? This essential service allows children to receive personalized, evidence-based support directly in their school environment, fostering success behaviorally and socially.
