Q: How long have you been living in St. Louis?

A: I have lived in St. Louis for over 10 years and grew up just a few hours south of St. Louis City. This region has always felt like home to me, and I’m proud to be part of the community here.

Q: What do you love about living in St. Louis?

A: One of my favorite aspects of living in St. Louis is taking advantage of the Saint Louis City and Saint Louis County public library systems. I believe they are hands-down some of the best and most inclusive public library systems in the country. They offer a wealth of resources, programs, and activities that cater to the diverse needs of the community, including families like ours.

Q: What makes St. Louis a great place for autism families?

A: St. Louis is a welcoming city for autism families, offering fun and enjoyable activities for both kids and adults. The city offers a wide range of activities and resources that are designed to be inclusive, making it easier for families to find spaces where their children can feel comfortable and engaged.

Q: Can you share a few places that are welcoming to our autism families and kiddos?

A: Many of our favorite local sites are sensory-inclusive certified by an organization called KultureCity. These include the Saint Louis Zoo, the Missouri History Museum, Saint Louis Aquarium, and the Saint Louis Science Center.

Their aim is to ensure enjoyable visits by reducing environmental disturbances and providing necessary resources and supplies specific to autism families’ needs. These certifications mean that these venues have gone the extra mile to create environments where children with autism spectrum disorder (asd) can thrive, which is incredibly important for families looking for safe and welcoming places to visit.
