Improving Fine Motor Skills with DIY Mermaid Crafts for Kids of All Ages
This simple craft for kids is engaging, fun, and fits into our applied behavior analysis ABA curriculum as it strengthens Fine Motor Skills. Our BT's in Temecula suggest creative activities for children with autism. These activities can assist with sensory integration, emotions, self-esteem, and confidence.

STEP 1
Gather all materials: scissor, pencil, glitter glue, regular glue, stencil, construction paper, wooden bamboo stick (or popsicle stick)
STEP 2
Cut out the stencil & trace 2x on construction paper. Then cut out the stars.
STEP 3
Add glue to the center of one star and place bamboo stick on top. Wait to dry.
STEP 4
Add glue to the bamboo stick and place the other star. Wait to dry.
STEP 6
Add a dot of glue between each “arm” of the star and press together.
STEP 7
Decorate with glitter glue, stickers, etc.
