Employee Spotlight: Paola Garcia –Recruiter

My name is Paola Garcia and I joined Behavior Frontiers coming up on three years ago. I graduated from USC with a degree in healthcare management and always knew I wanted to be on the administrative side of the industry. I started my journey at Behavior Frontiers as an HR Generalist and my time here has shaped me both personally and professionally. I arrived with three years of experience at another healthcare company, so I had already dabbled in many aspects of Human Resources, including recruitment. My previous experience taught me that I truly enjoy cultivating, nurturing and contributing to a company’s workforce, so, when I started at Behavior Frontiers, I really wanted to be a part of that aspect of the HR department’s work.

Partway through my first year, I expressed my interest in recruitment. At that same time, Behavior Frontiers was looking for a new applicant tracking system, something I had experience with in my previous position. The stars aligned and I was given the opportunity to help with the system’s launch. New doors opened and I moved into the talent acquisition role.

When I first took on my new position, Behavior Frontiers had a presence in three states. The company was on a growth trajectory, and it was clear to me that employee recruitment was going to be play a huge role in that growth. I was thankful for the opportunity because it meant that they trusted me and my knowledge on how to attract new talent. I knew this would be a huge task, but I also knew that I could learn new methods, try new strategies and work with our team on talent acquisition.

From the outset, I was clear on the importance of recruitment -- a great company needs great employees. The launch of the new applicant tracking system necessitated the involvement of a broad swath of people, departments and teams across the company which contributed greatly to their buy-in. We set up a designated career page on the company website and began implementing new ideas and tools to get the word out about our job openings. Fast forward two years and Behavior Frontiers now has 36 offices in 18 states; we’ve doubled our staff and we continue to grow. We now have a more streamlined recruiting process and I can spend more time nurturing our talent and finding new ways to attract it.

I have grown a great deal as a recruiter, and I love my job! Every day is different: Some days I source candidates, other days I work on developing new methods to reach more candidates. I still participate in the screening and interviewing process and get back to the roots of being a recruiter -- finding and placing top talent in jobs they love. I really enjoy being actively involved in every aspect of talent acquisition and strive to meet and exceed our recruitment goals.

Behavior Frontiers is full of growth and professional development opportunities. This company has helped me grow and has consistently supported my career goals. It is a place busting with dedicated, caring people and an amazing company culture that really feels like a family. I love Behavior Frontiers and I want the rest of the world to know it!

Paola Garcia joined Behavior Frontiers as an HR Generalist in April 2017. She was promoted to the position of Recruiter in January 2018 and is currently responsible for meeting Behavior Frontiers recruiting needs across all 35 locations in 18 states and the District of Columbia.
