How To Help Prevent the Spread of Coronavirus: Wash Your Hands!
Hand washing is one of the easiest and most effective ways to prevent the spread of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). However, the germ-killing powers of hand washing only work if you do it right! The infographic below shows the steps for proper hand washing, to make sure all zones are covered. Feel free to print it out and place it over the sink at home. It’s a helpful, all-ages guide to help you and your children stay happy and healthy during this difficult time.
As important as proper hand washing technique is, it’s just as important to make sure you are washing your hands for the appropriate amount of time. The CDC advises that you scrub your hands for 20 seconds – about the time it takes to sing “Happy Birthday” two times. However, singing “Happy Birthday” to yourself multiple times a day can get a little boring. Here are a few more options! The choruses of each of these songs are around 20 seconds long, so you can make your own hand washing playlist!
