What is a Behavior Technician?
Behavior Technicians (or BTs) work directly with children on the autism spectrum, either in-home, in the community, or in an Autism Treatment Center. First, a Case Manager or Clinical Director meets with the child and their family to determine specific goals or lessons that will help them, now and in the future. Then, the Behavior Technician applies those lessons. They use principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), such as reinforcement and prompting, to teach the child positive behaviors.
